Beautifully soft and light-weight, these alpaca blankets and throws are warmer than their wool equivalents. Easy to care for, they can be machine-washed on a delicate cycle with hair shampoo instead of detergent, with an optional tablespoon of white vinegar for the rinse to plump up the fibre. Do NOT use wool wash. Don't worry, washing instructions are on the woven label on the blankets – too easy.
Blankets are Queen size, and are thicker than their double bed counterparts PLUS they are reversible! For example, blankets are predominantly darker grey on one side, and lighter grey and white on the other (shown in the photos) - a truly fabulous effect! This pattern is no longer widely produced, but we at Woolly Llama have found it to be very popular with our clients (for beds and lounges), and it's certainly one of our favourites! We are therefore very pleased to have worked with our master weaver to bring this pattern back into our collection.
These blankets are approx. 70-80% alpaca on a 20-30% cotton-mixed-with-acrylic (orlon) base. This makes the blanket stronger and durable. If you are after a 100% alpaca blanket (which are a lot more expensive due to longer and more intricate production processes - as well as obviously the higher alpaca content), I recommend either a Peruvian- or Australian-made blanket.
